A farm festival for the whole family with theatre, concerts and artistic activities related to the forest August 28–30 at Åsheim Gård in Spydeberg. On Friday, the music and performing arts industry meet at the farm. Saturday brings magical theatre experiences and concerts for adults – Ane Dahl Torp performs Haugtussa in the forest followed by Sjur Miljeteig’s trumpet, actor Jan Gunnar Røise and multi-instrumentalist Stian Carstensen share Terje Vigen with us overlooking the cultural landscape around the farm.
The roof will come off when Svartskog folk ensemble plays and local beer styles follow the groove from the 00s – the carnival pop band Nicolai is back! The party continues into the night with forest walks after dark!
On Sunday it’s packed with fun for children and families! Theatre performance about the little mouse Fredrik, larva show and modelling workshop with artist and nature activist Monica Marcella, scene camp workshop with wooden swords and sticks led by Norway’s best at scene fighting and stunts. We end the weekend with an enchanting forest walk where you can meet mysterious fairy tale characters and fun trolls – the wandering theatre is a collaboration between professional performers, volunteers from Theatre Camp and young and old from the Intergenerational Theatre in Spydeberg.

THEATRE CONCERT: HAUGTUSSA
Actress Ane Dahl Torp has edited and collaged Garborg’s gripping poetry cycle to shed new light on the mysterious and prophetic Veslemøy, in collaboration with composer and trumpeter Miljeteig.
Captivating adventure for adults
Haugtussa explores the unconscious, drives and wildness in the human mind. It tells of the shepherdess Veslemøy, who one early morning is visited by her deceased sister. She tells that Veslemøy has a heavy road ahead – for she is prophetic, doomed to see what others cannot see.

Jan Gunnar Røise and Stian Carstensen
THEATRE CONCERT: TERJE VIGEN
Actor Jan Gunnar Røise performs the poem Terje Vigen by Henrik Ibsen set to music by musician Stian Carstensen
Jan Gunnar Røise is employed at the National Theatre and has made his mark in a wide range of roles. Røise received the Amanda Award for the lead role in Dag Johan Haugerud’s film Child, and in NRK’s drama series Power he played Reiulf Steen.
Stian Carstensen is a multi-instrumentalist who plays accordion, guitar, banjo and flutes. He is the frontman and composer of Farmers Market. Stylistically he combines a range of musical genres from jazz to Bulgarian folk music.

Winter is approaching, and the mouse family is busy. Everything must be ready. Seeds must be gathered, straw must be carried – no one has time to waste.
Except Fredrik. He just sits there. Looks. Listens. Collects something completely different.
The reason will turn out to be completely magical.
In this performance the children themselves become part of the story.
They enter the mouse family and a living and playful universe, where what you cannot touch, it turns out, is often what you need most. The performance is based on the classic picture book by Leo Lionni.
We encourage parents to let their children dress as mice that day if they wish. Ears, tails or a brown sweater are more than enough. If the children want to make a drawing of the mouse Fredrik and bring it to the performance for Kornelia and Fredrik, they will be very happy, because they collect drawings too!
The performance is suitable for children 4–7 years old.
For adults
We live in a chaotic world. And we rush through our days while adult talk about all the difficulties hums in the background. Children listen more than we think. Through Fredrik we want to give them another voice to listen to. A story about being different, yet important. About collecting colours, words and light – and sharing with the group. All this wrapped in a playful and magical tale about a little mouse who dares to be herself.

Svartskog Folk Ensemble aims to preserve folk music traditions from Follo, as well as learn and play other compositions from Norwegian and Nordic folk music traditions. The ensemble conveys music and musical joy and promotes interest in traditional music.

Jan Gunnar Røise is someone you’ll see several times at ÅsheimFest 2026. After delivering Terje Vigen earlier in the day, he puts on his tail and plays with the band NICOLAI to get people dancing:
Jan Gunnar Røise, Andreas Lyngstad, Lars Håvard Ringsby and Kristian Skjøberg delivered spectacular live shows with this ukulele-based carnival pop orchestra from 2001–2005 throughout much of the country. NICOLAI conquered places like BLÅ, BLÆST, Grotten in Bergen, Hulen in Stavanger, played and chatted on Studio Store and was listed on P3 with the hit MAJOR BLUNDER. 20 years later they’re back and rumour has it they have a new LP on the way! They deliver the same killer stage show as before – what’s new is that Alf Lyngstad Pharo joins on bass! This is refreshing and powerful reinforcement to the band!

Kristoffer Jørgensen / Arctic Action has extensive experience from film and stage and is one of Norway’s most used stunt coordinators.
With wooden swords and sticks from the forest, stunt coordinator Kristoffer Jørgensen leads a scene fighting workshop. Suitable for everyone over 4 years!

As a volunteer you’ll get to know the lovely people who run the festival, the artists who contribute, participants and audience members. The farm is small and manageable and the experiences are many.
You Get:
- Free entrance to all events

- A tent spot, help borrowing a tent or hammock if you need it
- A wonderful community and future network in music and performing arts
We need a good team of volunteers for many different tasks:
Rigging in the forest, setting up tents, carrying equipment; stage elements, sticks, tables and chairs, hanging tarps, tending grills and fires, making coffee, parking attendants, creating forest camps, driving to and from the station, putting up signs, baking and cooking for volunteers, checking tickets, selling merch and sheepskin, working in the café, organizing bikes, organizing backstage, cleaning toilets, restocking toilet paper, picking up trash, being fire wardens.
Interested? We need people before, during and after the festival.

Where is it?

How far is it?
35 minutes by train from Oslo Central Station to Spydeberg Station, line R22 towards Mysen/Rakkestad
or
45 minutes by car from downtown Oslo in the direction of Askim/Stockholm
Can we park there?
Yes, we have a large parking lot in front of the barn. You’ll be directed to parking by signs and an attendant in a yellow vest.
Can we park a camper van?
Absolutely, we allow camper vans/cars to park on a section of the field. Please let us know if you’re coming with a camper/car so we can arrange it. (edith.lindtner.2004@gmail.com)
Are there any accommodations nearby?
We have a tent camp – book a spot from Edith: edith.lindtner.2004@gmail.com. There’s also a hotel at Slitu and some Airbnb nearby.
Is there food for sale?
There is! The local food menu will come as we get closer 😉
Can we bring our own food?
Yes, feel free to bring food!
What about drinks?
It’s not possible to enjoy outside alcohol. We have beer sales Saturday evening, of local beer varieties.
Payment Methods?
Beer and food can be purchased with card or Vipps.
Buy tickets at the door?
It’s possible if there are tickets left. But if you want to be sure to get a spot, buy in advance. Children go free, but you must book tickets for children too.
What counts as a child?
Children under 16 years old.
Toilets and Showers?
There are toilets on the farm, but no showers available for tent guests. But the Glomma River is nice for bathing 😉
